SodaTide's product label includes a specific storage instruction: "Refrigerate for optimal quality," alongside the more general advice to keep it away from heat, light and humidity.
SodaTide contains live probiotic strains — Bifidobacterium infantis, Clostridium butyricum and Akkermansia muciniphila. Live bacterial cultures are generally more stable at cooler temperatures; heat and humidity can reduce the number of viable organisms in a capsule over time, which is why many probiotic products (though not all) carry a refrigeration recommendation.
Once your bottle arrives, move it to the refrigerator rather than a bathroom cabinet or pantry shelf, both of which tend to see more heat and humidity swings. If you're traveling, a probiotic can typically tolerate a day or two at room temperature without major issues, but the label's guidance is to refrigerate for the best potency over the full 30-day supply.
